Effect on ‘Law of Demand’ when there is no Scarcity of Resources According to a hypothesis of ‘Law of demand’, a converse relationship exists between amount requested by clients and cost of items as well as administrations. Things Fall Apart Essays (723 words) - African Writers Series

Things Fall Apart Alternate extremes don't Attract In Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, Mr. Earthy colored, the primary teacher in Umuofia, was a sort and aware man. Not to state that Reverend James Smith was not, however his level of thoughtfulness and regard were available in an entire diverse level. The two of them needed to change over the lost, each one of those in Umuofia that were not in the congregation. Mr. Earthy colored warmed up to the group and trod delicately on his confidence, (pg.178) while Mr. Smith revealed to them how things were in an unforgiving voice and attempted to compel his religion on the individuals of Umuofia. The effects the two had on the individuals and the congregation were careful contrary energies. Mr. Earthy colored was exceptionally firm in limiting his run from the group (pg. 178) and gained from conversing with those inside the gathering that a frontal assault on the tribe would not succeed (pg.181). In light of this knowledge he increased incredible regard with a significant number of the high authorities. When he was even given a cut elephant tusk, which was an indication of incredible poise and rank (pg.179) by Akunna. With this earned reverence he had the option to open a town store, yet a medical clinic and a school too. He argued for the family to send their kids and all other people who needed to, to go to his school. From the start everybody was hesitant to investigate this new choice for instruction. Those that decided to go to Mr. Browns school would figure out how to peruse and compose, however they would likewise figure out how to retaliate against those that would come in and attempt to vanquish them. With this knowledge and the caring endowments of singlets and towels (pg.181) from Mr. Earthy colored, more individuals overflowed into his school. Mr. Browns school not just showed them how to talk and read in another tongue, however from the earliest starting point religion and training went connected at the hip (pg.182). Mr. Smith, on the other, hand was extremely brutal and considered things to be high contrast. Also, dark was underhanded (pg.184). That awful manner of expression was characteristic of numbness and his disposition from the earliest starting point toward the locals of Umuofia who were darker looking. Under his influence, or one may state absence of control, the over-passionate believers currently thrived in full kindness (pg. 185) making the congregation and group meet crash to set out toward once and all when Enoch had executed a familial soul (pg. 186). Once the egwugwu went to go up against Mr. Smith for the executing of one of their individuals, Mr. Browns obliviousness and impoliteness were uncovered significantly more noteworthy than before when he wouldn't leave the grounds when inquired. As a result of the notoriety and the kinships that were worked by Mr. Earthy colored, Mr. Smith was treated with a similar regard when stood up to by the spirits. Lamentably, Mr. Smith despite everything would not proceed to regard the desires of the spirits and pioneers of Umuofia in spite of their graciousness with respect to the current circumstance. Despite the fact that Mr. Smith held fast he was unable to spare his congregation (pg. 191) and the hands of the egwugwu destroyed the difficult work Mr. Earthy colored put into the congregation in Umuofia before leaving both genuinely and socially. At the point when the congregation initially came into town everybody was reluctant and detached to this new God and church. In the event that is was not for Mr. Earthy colored coming in first and making the connections the congregation would dubiously had gotten the opportunity to try and assemble a structure in the edges of town. In the event that Mr. Smith has been the first to show up at Umuofia it would have been exceptionally hard to manufacture any trust among the individuals. Since Mr. Smith moved an irate advance (pg.185) among the individuals of Umuofia, the relationship would have without a doubt been difficult to make. It is grievous, however, that the individuals of Umuofia didn't have a decision of which teacher, assuming any, they may have liked to show them the methods of the white man. Rather they were left with two ministers, one of which they got a kick out of the chance to a point, and another that they couldn't dispose of. Book Reports

Females bring forth two to four fledglings after a growth time of around 96 days and generally produce a litter each 15 to two years. Panther fledglings are small (around two pounds during childbirth) and go through their first seven day stretch of existence with their eyes shut. Offspring figure out how to stroll at around fourteen days old, leave the lair at around 7 weeks, and are weaned by a quarter of a year. They are free by the age of 20 months, however kin may remain together for quite a long while and youthful panthers regularly remain in the region where they were conceived. <img information srcset=https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/q9CkU8AdcO5St90c-MnDcW3gPLI=/300x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-977285188-d5239036ead446f89e91eed5e49eaa25.jpg 300w, https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/Uo_QtectQeYGtZA1vQJCEuPlTUw=/755x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-977285188-d5239036ead446f89e91eed5e49eaa25.jpg 755w, https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/Jfcp7da9JSkwvEQ1dInwhRIpMgI=/1210x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-977285188-d5239036ead446f89e91eed5e49eaa25.jpg 1210w, https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/T3Bi3WailHFdsUIvLZWvpb33nME=/2121x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-977285188-d5239036ead446f89e91eed5e49eaa25.jpg 2121w information src=https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/DbtH6_Q00jQIqXrza577tqJRM4c=/2121x1414/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-977285188-d5239036ead446f89e91eed5e49eaa25.jpg src=//:0 alt=Portrait of panther with panther offspring, Botswana class=lazyload information click-tracked=true information img-lightbox=true information expand=300 id=mntl-sc-square image_1-0-27 information following container=true /> Dietmar Willuhn/Getty Images Preservation Status Panthers are more various than any of the other incredible felines, be that as it may, as per the Animal Diversity Web, Panthers are declining in parts of their geographic range because of natural surroundings misfortune and fracture and chasing for exchange and irritation control. Taking the SAT as an Adult, Part 1

More and more, people are taking the SAT as an adult. In this post, well look at the various reasons that an adult professional may want to take the SAT. Taking the SAT as an adult to compete in the job market There is a growing trend among employers. More and more, hiring managers like to see the past academic performance of their applicants. This includes SAT scores.  if you dont have an SAT score, theres a chance that you could be passed over for an interview in favor some another applicant who does. And even if you  do have an SAT score, it may not hurt to retake the exam and get a higher score. Proof of a recent SAT retake can also show employers that you are ambitious and determined to land the best position you can. Taking the SAT as an adult  for a career in education If you want to work in education, especially for a school or company that offers test prep, taking the SAT as an adult may be an absolute requirement. Even if you are applying for a high school or college prep teaching job that doesnt absolutely  require  you to take the SAT, doing so could still be beneficial. Taking the SAT, or  retaking the SAT so you can experience the new, redesigned 2016 version of the test will help you understand and support your students. In fact, if you are currently working as a high school or prep school teacher, you may want to take the SAT, and even retake it every year or two. This is a situation where taking the SAT as an adult can help you excel at your work and really help your students. Taking the SAT as an adult to go back to school Maybe you began working right out of high school. Or maybe you got a degree at a community college or overseas university that doesnt require the SAT. If you find yourself needing to go back for a new degree that will advance your career, youll need to take the SAT as an adult. When you apply for schools, it can also be a good idea to retake the SAT as an adult if your previous SAT scores are especially old. SAT scores do not expire per se, as the College Board keeps your score available  in the years and decades after you take the test. But the exam itself has changed a lot over the years, with an overhaul to format and content just this year. These changes reflect new expectations in higher education. So a more recent score can make you more appealing to university admissions offices. A lot of SAT material and advice is aimed at teens.  But many others are taking the SAT as an adult, for various reasons. If you are an older learner who needs to take the SAT, Magoosh has some study tips for you. Advantages to taking the SAT as an adult There are some definite advantages to taking the SAT when youre  not still in high school. Older learners   tend to have   longer attention spans and a greater ability to really focus on their academic goals. If youre in your mid-twenties or older and are now thinking of going back to school, youre probably also much more sure about  why you want to take the SAT. This sense of purpose can give you greater confidence and greater motivation as you aim for your target score. Re-learning high school academics The SATespecially the newly redesigned version of the exam is built to be a logical extension of junior and senior high school classes. The reading passages are the kind you might see in an advanced high school textbook. The writing questions focus on the types  of grammar and style choices you might have made as a teen in your language arts classes. And the math skills are also very high school the problems on the SAT  match the content of 11th and 12th grade math textbooks. If youre taking the SAT as an adult, youve probably either been out of school for a while, or youre in the process of transferring from a community college to a four-year university that requires the SAT. Either way, be sure to brush up on junior/senior high school content. If its been years or more since you were in school at all, make sure your studies include getting reaccustomed to academics.  You may read, write and do math in your adult life, but doing so academically doesnt feel the same as using these skills at work or for fun. As you review SAT practice materials, dont feel bad if youre a little uncomfortable or lost. Give yourself time to reconnect to schooling, and make mental note of how academic math and language tasks are different form real life ones. If youve been taking community college classes, your coursework still might not be a perfect match for high school coursework or SAT-style questions. Take time to  look through both high school textbooks and official SAT materials, to make sure that you are ready for SAT-style study. Understand recent changes to education Both high school and higher education have changed a lot in recent years. Theres much more of an emphasis on mental math these days, rather than the step-based math you may probably saw in school when you last attended. And in reading and writing, theres much more of an emphasis on inferences, subtext, content, and style, rather than hard facts. Youll also see more visually oriented information that you might have seen on the last academic tests you took. So be ready to incorporate graphs, charts and tables into your studies. Be willing to get help The idea of seeking study help, either through a tutor, a study group, or a service like Magoosh SAT, is something younger learners are more comfortable with. In your adult life, you get much more used   to being independent and doing things yourself, you way. But seeking help and advice for the SAT makes perfect sense, no matter how old you are. And sometimes, just a little bit of advice combined with some great study materials can go a long way toward getting you through the SAT and  furthering your career and educational goals.

Addiction Coursework - 825 Words

Addiction (Coursework Sample) Content: Name:Instructor:Course:Date:AddictionThis essay tends to compare two articles and identifies the various similarities and differences they both have. I will discuss three major issues outlined that include a type of addiction to the subject, the feelings portrayed by the family, and other people towards the addict and finally the outcome of the addict that is his death. The similarities are the two articles tend to constitute a type of addictive behavior that the person being spoken about has. In the first article written by Ellen Goodman titled:The Company Man describes a man, who is addicted to his work so much, he barely has time for his family. Most of his family members do not even know him well at all as he does not spend time at home. It is evident where in the obituary it was said that he had passed on due to coronary thrombosis, but everyone including his acquaintances and friends knew he was a flawless type A workaholic. The second article entitled: under th e influence: Paying the price of My Fathers Booze, describes how his father had an addiction, but his was that of alcohol. This addiction made his children fear him and his wife despise him. It is evident when he writes his father drank. He drank like a gut-punched boxer tends to gasp for breath, like a starved dog gobbles food secretly, compulsively, trembling and in pain. The phrase like a starved dog gobbles food shows the extent of his addiction. The two articles also share a fact that the addiction of the party being referred to elicits various feelings from family members and other people. In the first article, his wife Helen who was forty eight years of age had given up competing with her husbands work, when the children were still small, years ago, according to her daughter. Even a friend from the company had told her that he knew how much she would miss him, and she said she already had. We see that his eldest child, working in a manufacturing firm as an executive barely kne w him. Moreover, he had gone around their neighborhood to search his father and inquire from them information about him. His second girl child had nothing to say to him when seated in a car as they were driving. In the second article, there is guilt, shame fear and rage along with the danger of abandonment and insanity. He writes that other people tend to have keener sources of grief like racism, poverty, war and rape. However, he was trying to comprehend the mixture of responsibility; helplessness and shame that he learnt to feel considering him being the son of an alcoholic. He writes that all evening, until their bedtimes they would tiptoe past their father and curl themselves in their sheets fearfully listening. The two articles also show the two addicted people dying in the end. Mr. Phil, from the first article, The Company Man, dies from overworking himself. From the article, when he finally worked himself to death at exactly 3:00 A.M. Sunday morning no one tended to be actua lly surprised. In the second article, he no longer imagined, he could reason with the men whose names were found on the bottles, the likes of Jack Daniels. He claims to have been able to remember the statistics of alcoholism that were cold the likes of ten, fifteen and even twenty million victims. He says he failed of perfection and his father succeeded in dying. At the end, he had considered himself not sick but sinful, asked him whether he wanted to kill himself and was answered with a yes why not, why the hell not and what was there to be saved. The differences in the two articles are on the type of addiction, in that in the first article, the addiction is of work and the second article, the father is addicted to alcohol. This can be seen above where everyone including his acquaintances and friends knew Phil was a flawless type A w...
